Call for Interns with Bloom Justice

Bloom Justice is currently looking for two interns, in Education and Outreach:

Education Intern:
The Education Intern at Bloom Justice attends all workshops and is intimately involved in course planning. Tasks include setting up and breaking down workshops, helping to create educational materials, overseeing workshop activities, and coordinating with guest teachers. A minimum of 5 hours in the garden will be expected each month, and educational activities will require approximately 3-5 hours each week. Our workshops meet on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings through May, and Thursday afternoons through August. Applicants should have experience and sensitivity working in a multicultural and multi-class setting, and have some gardening (preferably permaculture) experience. Design skills and familiarity with WordPress a plus. This is a 5 month internship, and it is unpaid. Outreach Intern:
The Outreach Intern at Bloom Justice engages the local community in Western Addition, organizing community workdays, setting up a mailing list, and arranging visits in neighboring gardens. A minimum of 5 hours in the garden will be expected each month, and outreach activities will require approximately 20 hours each month. Attendance at monthly community workdays is required (these are usually on Saturdays). Applicants should have experience and sensitivity working in a multicultural and multi-class setting, and have some gardening (preferably permaculture) experience. Design skills in Adobe Illustrator and familiarity with WordPress a plus. This is a 5 month internship, and it is unpaid.
